 History of Agencies The great grandfather of our current President and owner, R. Michael Wrenn was J.R. Wrenn who founded the agency in Marceline Missouri in 1896. After graduating from the University of Missouri, Michael came to Kansas City in 1974 and went into the insurance business at the Travelers Insurance Company as a life insurance trainee. Ultimately, Mike took over the Marceline operation in 1977 from his father and owned it until selling to a local agency in 1984, so he could focus on his Kansas City independent agency. Mike continued to build the Kansas City agency that ultimately became the fastest growing company in greater Kansas City in 1989. However, in 1992 the unfortunate decisions of several Stakeholders in the agency were made that led to the sale of the agency and a period of several years of ongoing operations were interrupted. After Mike successfully resolved these issues, he established what is known as Wrenn Insurance, Inc. in January 1995 and began the rebuilding process, again. Today there are 6 agencies in the family of companies, including a Marceline, MO location. As a continued testament to Mike's determination to build an insurance agency organization, the newly formed agency has continued to grow rapidly and is recognized as the 25th and 26th fastest growing company in Kansas City in years 2002 and 2003. The agency has committed to servicing the individual and small business owner in all areas of insurance and risk management. By early 2004 the agency associates numbered 25 and another year of significant growth is anticipated. The agency's success is its commitment to continuous improvement and reinvested capital to support the team development of a "family" culture, delivering WORLD-CLASS SERVICE for it's customers. |
